It was great to show our finished artwork, INSPIRING EQUITY, at the Shared Futures ArtScience Collaborative event during Adult Night at Explora!
Liz Olivarez and I talked to so many people about her important research and about how I created the piece inspired by her research.
It was fun to see how excited people got (and sometimes nervous) when I said that they could touch the art. I think that the woodburning, especially, can be a tactile experience that adds to the visual impact.
It also was nice to have so many questions about, and interest in, the meaning of each part of the work.
